The mysterious Essentures creatures always habited the world and made human survival harder, everything only changed when humanity made weapons from these creatures, with all that power, humanity turned on themselves with wars and destructive conflicts, this was stopped only when a Emperor chosen by the Divinessen (the Gods of this world) created a unified world. After a period of peace at his last days, he need to choose a sucessor, a champioship was made by the Gods: One who passes the 7 trials of Seven Wonders will be the sucessor, as a gift every candidate will receive the Gauntlet, a device that let you use Essentures no more only as weapons, but as allies.
However not everything is how it looks, you are someone who has been trained the whole life to take down the deceitful Gods who appear to just pulling the strings for their reals purposes. So ally with your Essentures partners to take down the Gods and burn their champioship down!
